Sarah "Salli" Lewis, Ph.D.
Dr. Sarah (“Salli”) Lewis is the Director of the Research Division for CReATE. She is a licensed clinical psychologist, with specialty training in the evaluation and treatment of traumatic event exposure, as well as the interface between science and practice. She earned her doctoral degree from West Virginia University and completed her residency at the National Crime Victims Research and Treatment Center at the Medical University of South Carolina. Following, she was a clinical and research faculty member at Marshall University, providing doctoral training in the provision of empirically-supported assessment and treatment. Since re-locating to North Carolina, Dr. Lewis has worked as a consulting psychologist, conducting program evaluation research, as well as providing clinical assessment and trauma-focused treatment for children, adolescents, adults, and families. In 2007, Drs. Lewis and Daniels founded CReATE. Dr. Lewis has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals and provides training and professional presentations addressing the role of applied clinical research and evidence-based practice.

Sheneen Daniels, Ph.D.
Dr. Sheneen Daniels is the Director of the Clinical Division for CReATE. She has over 12 years experience in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of mental health disorders and conditions, having conducted over 1400 comprehensive psychological and psychoeducational evaluations. Dr. Daniels received her M.A. in Clinical Psychology from Western Carolina University and her Ph.D. from the University of Alabama. She completed her APA-approved doctoral internship at LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans. Specializing in data-driven evaluation and treatment, Dr. Daniels provides clinical training and supervision to psychologists, other clinicians, and graduate students-in-training. Her clinical and research focus includes the assessment, identification, and treatment of learning disabilities, ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, and other neurodevelopmental disorders; and the impact these conditions can have on an individual’s social, emotional, and behavioral functioning, including issues related to self-concept, substance abuse, and other comorbid conditions. Dr. Daniels has worked in numerous inpatient and outpatient clinical settings including hospitals, residential treatment centers, public and private schools, therapeutic boarding schools, private practice, and wilderness therapy programs. She is also co-investigator on two wilderness therapy treatment outcome studies currently being conducted through CReATE.

Scott J. Miller, Psy.D.
Dr. Scott Miller received his doctoral degree in clinical psychology from Argosy University in Atlanta. He completed a pre-doctoral internship at the University of Virginia and a post-doctoral fellowship at Georgia State University. Dr. Miller has extensive experience conducting psychological evaluations—in numerous settings and with varying populations. Currently, he consults with residential treatment programs, assessing adolescents and young adults, working with families, and providing comprehensive recommendations to improve treatment response. Further, Dr. Miller also works with adolescents and adults in individual therapy. His areas of clinical interest include mood and anxiety disorders, addiction, attachment, and gender issues. Before becoming a psychologist, Dr. Miller worked for seven years as an instructor and administrator for the North Carolina Outward Bound School. He continues to provide volunteer services to Outward Bound.

Cara Reeves, Ph.D.
Dr. Cara Reeves has an extensive background in the psychological assessment of children, adolescents and young adults. After completing a master’s degree at Western Carolina University, she worked for two years at Clemson University’s Counseling and Psychological Services completing comprehensive assessments of students for various learning and psychological disorders. During her doctoral training at the University of Mississippi, she continued to broaden her expertise in clinical assessment by serving as a verification specialist and test evaluator for the University of Mississippi Student Disability Services and Psychology Assessment Clinic. During her clinical internship at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Dr. Reeves gained invaluable training and experience conducting neuropsychological evaluations on pediatric cancer survivors. She developed a programmatic line of research examining the cognitive sequelae of pediatric brain tumors and leukemia. During her post-doctoral fellowship, Dr. Reeves worked on a federally-funded grant at the Medical University of South Carolina conducting neuropsychologically-based evaluations of pediatric cancer survivors.

Jane Brown, Psy.D.
Dr. Jane Brown received both her masters and doctoral degrees from Nova Southeastern University where she completed a specialty training track, including internship and residency, in the area of child and adolescent assessment and treatment. While at Nova she taught graduate classes in testing and measurement, as well as supervised graduate students performing comprehensive psychological evaluations. Since earning her doctorate, Dr. Brown has worked in a variety of settings, including residential and outpatient programs as well as in private practice. For the past 5 years, Dr. Brown served as clinical director of child and family outpatient services for a non-profit agency serving the seven westernmost counties in North Carolina. During this time she provided comprehensive assessment and treatment to children, supervision and training of the child clinical staff, and program development and implementation.
